Rick Ross, John Legend or Anthony Hamilton could soon be nominated for the highest honor in film for a music artist. They are reportedly on the shortlist to receive Academy Awards nominations for Best Original Song for their tracks on the Django Unchained soundtrack, via CBS.
Ross, Legend and Hamilton all contributed songs to the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained, making them eligible for the coveted award. Ross’s song “100 Black Coffins” was produced and co-written by the film’s star male lead Jamie Foxx.
Nominations won’t be officially announced until January 10. The guys face stiff competition from Adele, who recorded the new James Bond theme “Skyfall”…we all have to wait until Jan 10th to find out!! Wouldn’t that be such a great look for the guys though?
